Admitted to the master’s program in health policy and management.

 

Course content

The health sector, which requires the science of health policy and management, is a multidisciplinary field. The various concepts underlying multidisciplinary practices relate to the policy process, and the management of its implementation in society. Policy Science develops the study of the relationship between government and the private sector, the distribution of authority and responsibility between different levels of government, studies the relationship between policy formulation and implementation, discusses policy ideology, and debates the meaning of health reform.  In 2023, Law 17 of 2023 on Health with an Omnibus Law approach was passed. The drafting of this law has sharp pros and cons. In the lecture process, the Health Law will be the case discussed,

 In planning and implementing health policies, management theories and concepts cannot be ignored. Management is a key determinant of the success or failure of policy implementation. In this context, management is often divided into organizational management and program management. This course discusses organizational management in more detail. As the 3rd credit, students will be invited to understand the Learning Health System.

After completing the course the student should be able to:

  • Understand the Health System and Health Policy Framework: Content, context, process, and policy actors based on the philosophy of Pancasila. (Case: Health Law)
  • Interpret the policy making process and influencing forces. (Case: Health Law)
  • Apply Health Decentralization Policy and Health sector Governance
  • Understand Policy Implementation and Policy analysis
  • Apply Management Principles to health service institutions
  • Consider Human Aspects in the Management System of Service Organizations
  • Analyze the Health System and Health Policy Framework: Content, context, process, and policy actors based on the philosophy of Pancasila. (Case: Health Law)
  • Analyze Health Sector Reform in the World and in Indonesia, especially Law no 17/2023 regarding health.
  • Analyze Policy Implementation
  • Conduct Policy analysis
